Phillip Bier Obituary

PHILLIP BIER "Phil" Phil was born on November 15, 1917, in Fresno, and passed away on Friday, July 18, 2003, at the age of 85. Phil served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was stationed in north Africa and Italy. He worked for the Fresno School District from 1953-1979. Phil was one of 15 brothers and sisters. They were a German immigrant family from Russia. Hard working and honest, they asked little for themselves other than the opportunity to contribute their skills and labor. They contributed mightly to the growth and development of Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley. "Gramps" will always be the role model for his daughter, Pam and son-in-law Bob, and grandchild- ren, Phillip, Sasha, and Steven De Long; and his sister, Betty Rutherford. He is missed by us all, but we are confronted that he is reunited with his beloved Bernice Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at John N. Lisle Chapel on Thursday, July 24, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1320 E. Shaw Ste. #103, Fresno, CA 93710.

So sorry to read your dad's obituary on the Internet. I was looking for my mom's cousin's obituary--she also died on the 18th of July. I extend my sincere sympathy.
