PHYLLIS ANNETTE GOODENOUGH PAULSEN

Mom passed away peacefully into the hands of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2014, at the age of 89. Born May 11, 1925 in Fresno, CA to Floyd and Wilda Belle Riggin, she was raised by her grandparents, O.P. "Part" and Belle Goodenough. Being an only child, Mom was raised with her cousins, who were also her lifelong partners in crime and mischief. Mom went to school at Alvina Elementary and Bowles Elementary Schools before graduating from Washington Union High School in 1943. She married Carl Paulsen on August 10, 1946 in Easton at the Easton Presbyterian Church (on what she always called the hottest day of the century) where she was an active lifelong member. Mom and Dad were married for almost 37 years before his passing in 1983. Mom spent most of her adult life being a loving wife, mother and grandma. She loved us all fiercely and made sacrifices for all of us continually. She is survived by her son, Timothy and his wife, Janice; daughter, Laurie Wieland and husband, Richard; four grandsons, Chris Paulsen and wife, Mandi, Joshua Wieland and wife, Tiffany, Michael Paulsen and wife, Stancie and Randy Wieland and wife, Joei. Mom was also GGMA to Madisen, Landon, Logan and Chase. A Graveside Service will be held at Washington Colony Cemetery District, on Monday, December 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Her Life at Easton Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to Easton Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 5895 S. Elm, Fresno, CA 93706.
