QUEEN PASHAYAN Obituary

Queen Pashayan passed away on November 26, 2014, at the age of 92, joining her husband, John Pashayan in the Heavenly Kingdom. Queen was surrounded in her home by her loving and caring sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Queen was born in Bowles, to parents Michael and Mary Arzoian. Queen had four sisters, Nan Mirigian, Bernice Hamp, Marie Dyer, Vivian Peoples. They all preceded her in death. Queen graduated from Washington Union High School, and soon after she met her future husband John, at an Armenian picnic on the Kings River near Reedley. They fell in love and were soon married, they were wed in Yettem in 1941. They spent the next 70 years inseparable until John's death in 2011. They traveled to Europe, Africa, South America, and many other destinations but they always loved coming home. Queen and John's favorite hobby was gardening, it kept them both young. The lot they bought in 1961, almost a full acre, and every inch was planted with flowers. She and John worked hours almost every day to keep it beautiful planting all different varieties of plants and trees in their yard. It was so beautiful that Queen was awarded "The Most Beautiful Yard in Sunnyside" by the Sunnyside Property Association. Queen was a proud breast cancer survivor, pretty good tennis player and kept an immaculate house. She knew if you had eaten a cracker without a plate or napkin. But best of all, Queen was a loving and caring parent to her sons, Tim and David; their wives, Erica and Roza; grandchildren, Joscelyne, David Jr., Johnny, and Mariam; great-grandchildren, Klaus, Kassady, Colt, and Lily; and all of her nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was loved back. No more sorrow, Queen is now again with her beloved husband John. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul Armenian Church on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the St. Paul Armenian Church, 3767 N. First St. Fresno, CA 93726.

I know how hard it is for my cousins Tim and David. Auntie Queenie was gracious, beautiful, and giving. I'll miss her terribly as I do my Uncle Johnnie. Auntie Queenie and Uncle Johnnie will always be in my heart and will be so missed.
