DR. RICHARD D. ROSE III

Richard was born on June 25, 1953, in Hanford, Ca. He peacefully passed away early Wednesday morning on March 10, 2010, at his sister's home in Fresno, Ca. Richard grew up in Fresno, Ca. and attended Teague Elementary School and Central Union High School. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, he also attended Fresno City College. Richard has over 30 years service within the California Community College System. He last served as President of Modesto Junior College from July 1, 2006, to November 30, 2009. His father Richard Rose Jr. and granddaughter Jordyn E. Todd precedes Richard in death. Richard gave generously and was a mentor to many; he will be deeply missed by family, friends, and so many others whose lives he touched. Richard is survived by his wife, DeBorah Johnson-Rose of American Canyon, Ca.' his mother, Beatrice Thomas of Fresno, Ca.; his daughter, Janelle Rose; and granddaughter, Jaeda R. Todd both of Vallejo, Ca.; stepdaughter, Lakeyshia Alexander of Atlanta, Ga.; his three brothers, Norman Thomas of Fremont, Ca., Patrick Thomas of Fresno, Ca., and Eric Thomas of Ceres, Ca.; his two sisters, Denise Butler and Jeanine Castle both of Fresno, Ca.; a half-brother, Crosby Foster; and two half-sisters, Etta Rose Harrison and Aisha Hodges from South Carolina, and several nieces, nephews, and a great-nephew. Remembrances will be held at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St. in Vallejo Ca. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at North Hills Baptist Church, 200 Admiral Callaghan Lane in Vallejo, Ca on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, our family wishes to have donations made, In Memory of Dr. Richard D.
