Dr. Robert Lassen Williams

DR. ROBERT LASSEN WILLIAMS

Dr. Robert Lassen Williams was born on November 11, 1921, and died on November 28, 2002, at the age of 81. His parents, Dr. Charles C. Williams and Dr. Lucille Hogue Wiliams were members of early Fresno pioneer families. Dr. Robert attended Fresno Schools. He graduated from Fresno High School in the class of 1939. After attending Whittier College and Fresno State College, he completed his studies at the University of Southern California and Southern California Dental School earning both a B.S. and D.D.S. degree. He also received a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 1987 at San Francisco. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army. Later, during the Korean War (1951-1953), he rejoined the army and was stationed in Germany as a Captain in the Dental Corps. He then returned to Fresno, where he practiced dentistry for approximately 40 years. Dr. Robert leaves behind his wife, Muriel; his five children, Robert L. Williams, Jr., and his wife Jean, of Mill Valley CA, Ava Williams, of Spokane, WA, Park J. Williams and his wife Karen, Hak Shik Williams and his wife Myung Hee, all of Fresno, and Dennis Williams of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren; three step-children, Susan Holmen of Reedley, CA, R. Donald Lish and his wife Laurie of Visalia, CA, Christine Taylor and her husband Dave, of Kingsburg, CA; eight step-grandchildren; his sister, Helen Stewart and her husband, Joe, who reside in San Rafael, CA. He is preceded in death by his his brother, Charles C. Williams. He held memberships in the federal, state, and local Dental Associations, North Fresno Exchange Club, and Sirs. He was a past member of the Fresno Masonic Lodge and the Shrine. Before that, he belonged to the old Masonic Center Lodge. He was an active member of the Northwest Church. Memorial Service was held in the Chapel at the Northwest Church on Monday, December 2, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. Private Internment will be in the Kingsburg Cemetery, in Kingsburg, CA.
