To the family of Sis. Merrill,
I was only five years old when my family moved to Fresno. We found Northeast Assembly in the phonebook and began attending. Once my mom found out that Sis. Merrill gave piano lessons, my sister and I were signed up.
My greatest memories of Sis. Merrill all revolve around music. She was my first piano teacher, my first choir director, and the first one to show me that you can be Jesus to others through song.
Bro. Merrill, you and the family will be in our prayers. Thank you for sharing Sis. Merrill with us.

To the family of our sweet Sister Merrill.
She will be greatly missed. Her love for people and her love for the 'Master' she served so faithfully will always be foremost in our memory of her.
I heard a reference to her one time that I feel just 'fit' her to a 'T'. Someone referred to her as "LADY Merrill". And THAT she was ! A real lady. There aren't many of those around. But she was a lady in every sense of the word.
She was our 'spiritual' mother. We rededicated our lives to the Lord at Northeast in 1970 while she and Pastor Merrill were ministering there. So they became our family in Jesus. Teaching, nurturing, guiding, and loving us as their 'kids'. We are so very blessed that God put them there for us at that time. And that we have been able to call them our friends.
Pastor Merrill, you are in our thoughts and prayers dear brother. You and your family are loved by us and so many others.

Noel & I enjoyed your ministry at Northeast Assembly and truly are sorry at the passing of Ruby. We will miss her and are so sorry we were not able to attend the services. We will always remember her smile and positive attitude even through her sickness. She was always an inspiration. We love you Don, you will always be "Pastor Merrill" to us.

My dearest sweet Ruby. You and Don have been special people to me from the first time I met you, when you became my pastors some 13 years ago. We have had so many long and wonderful conversations over the phone these past years and especailly since you have been ill. I know you are happy in Heaven, a place you have sought to achieve at a time such as this. I will miss our talks and all your words of encouragement. Your daughters have been like sisters to me and I have also enjoyed your grandaughters as well. I have many happy and fond memories with your family. There were so many precious times when we would linger at the altars after services on Sunday evening, singing praises to Christ our king. We didnt want to leave church or Gods presense. My heart is so sadend at your passing but I know you are in a better place where there is no more suffering or pain. Don is going to be lost without you, but the kids will be there for him. Rest in peace Ruby. I love you and Don so very much.

Reverend Don & Ruby Merrill ministered very effectively at our pastorate here in Sacramento several times. Each time Ruby was a key factor because of her music ability. We love, esteem and honor her memory. I shall always remember her wonderful daughters and how they treated my 6 year old son when I preached for them in Oregon several years ago. Our sincere prayer goes to the Heavenly Father in your behalf, my friend, Pastor Don and family.
