Satenig Lucinian Obituary

SATENIG (SAGHATELIAN) LUCINIAN 1922 - 2004

Our gorgeous mother left us on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, to join her husband and other family members who preceded her in death. Mom was born on February 4, 1922, to Hyganoosh and Gazair Saghatelian. Mom loved an adventure, whether it be traveling to Armenia, Japan, or Rio De Janiero. She was always ready for whatever life had to offer. Vivacious and fund loving, Mom also enjoyed driving to Montana to visit her brother Sid, his wife Ginger, and their boys Jamie and Ryan. Ginger would take Mom with her to float down the Madison River, laughing and singing all the way! Mom began one of her many careers as a W.A.C. in the 1940's at Chandler Air Field. There, she was always planning dances and road trips with her girl friends. She spent many years as a legal secretary which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her notes in shorthand are left everywhere. She went on to sell real estate. After retirement, she helped form the Fresno Grand Opera as one of its founding members. That brought her great joy and many new friends. Mom was also proud of her Armenian heritage. She was a great cook of Armenian food. Dad loved her cooking! Her pilaf recipe was given to many friends. Many parties celebrated our happy times together. She had the ability to form and cultivate friends of all ages, young and old. Her open heart, warmth and kindness were overflowing. Her children were blessed to have her in their lives for so long. Her love spilled way over to her grandkids, Jeff and Natalie - gosh, how she loved them. She would do anything for them, baby sit, take them on trips, or just go grocery shopping, just so she could be with them. Mom's spirit can now continue to soar, for her new journey has just begun. Love you more everyday Mama Our mother leaves behind her children, Larry, Joanne and Nancy; grandkids, Jeff and Natalie; brother, Tom Saghatelian; sister, Janet Saghatelian; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Ginger Saghatelian, and Millie Saghatelian; and the many friends she met along the way; and always, Willie and Nancylee will be special to her. Thank you Betty and Michelle for your prayer chains, food and strength. Mom will be forever missed and loved immensely. Visitation will be held at the Yost & Webb Funeral Home on Monday, May 17, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Yost & Webb Funeral Home Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Ararat Cemetery. To honor her memory, gifts may be made to the Fresno Grand Opera, 2405 Capitol St. Suite 103, Fresno, CA 93721 or the Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 2226 Ventura Ave., Fresno, CA 93721.
