I have always had the utmost appreciation for Shirley's "can-do-it" attitude. She was the oldest volunteer at KidsGames, a summer day camp held at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church. In 2003, when KG began, Shirley volunteered as a "Kid-Connector," escorting and shepherding her group of 20 youngsters from one station activity to the next. In later years, when walking became difficult, Shirley volunteered as a Station Leader. She was an inspiration to many!!

Shirley and Walt were wonderful neighbors to my parents, Frank and Anne Simon. It was always comforting to know they were all there looking out for each other.
