Steven Horsley Obituary

STEVEN JOHN HORSLEY 1962 - 2006 Steve passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2006, in Fresno at the age of forty-four. He was a native of Fresno born on March 25, 1962, to Beverly and Neil Horsley. He attended Holland Elementary School, Tioga Middle School and graduated from Hoover High School in 1980. Steve completed his education with a degree in industrial engineering from California State University, Fresno in 1984. His hope growing up was to become a football player but that dream was halted by a high school knee injury. He then turned to wrestling, where he won a state championship. Later in life his passion for cooking encouraged him to acquire a degree from culinary school. As an adult he held a variety of jobs ranging from industrial plant management to culinary. Steve was known to have a warm generous heart always willing to make those he loved happy. He did everything with great enthusiasm as he enjoying life to the fullest. He had a wide circle of friends who will miss him dearly. Steve is survived by his wife and soul mate Elizabeth; his cherished son Neal; stepdaughter Elexis; parents, Neil and Beverly; and his brothers, Don and his wife Kelly, and Greg and his wife Kim, as well as his nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Unitarian/Universalist Church, 4144 North Millbrook in Fresno on Thursday, December 28, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send remembrances to the Educational Fund for Neal J.
