Steven Simonian Obituary

Steven was born on January 8,1926, in Fresno, Ca. on the ranch he loved so dearly. He died on Saturday, July 18, 2009. He was a successful farmer as well as terminal manager for Pacific Motor Trucking Co. He was an active businessman, including Head Trader for the Fresno Trade Club, President and Trucker of the Year with the Fresno Transportation club and Man of the Year for Junior Achievement. While in St. Louis for basic training during WWII he met Marian Heller, the love of his life and wife of 62 years. Steven served in the (CBI) China-Burma-India Theater for two years during WWII. Steven loved flying and was an avid pilot since he was 16 years old. He also loved auto racing, a love he shared with his three sons as they always attended both the Daytona and Indianapolis 500 together. Times they enjoyed together and will never forget. He will always be known as the guy who never met a stranger.Steven is survived by his wife Marian; three sons, Steve Jr. and his wife Kathy, Kim and his wife Denise, and Scott; as well as seven grandchildren; one sister Annabelle; and our dear family friend, Susan Kazanjian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 2838 N. West Ave. on Friday, July 24, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Massis Armenian Cemetery following. Remembrance may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 26512 Greentree Ave., Madera, Ca. 93638.
