DR. TROY HERBERT SMITH

Doctor Troy Herbert Smith was born on September 21, 1934, and passed away on July 6, 2018, at the age of 83, from complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was an amazing orthopedic surgeon and a loving husband, brother-in-law, godfather, and friend. He was born in Carlsbad, NM, and served in the United States Navy as a medical doctor. Doctor Smith came to Fresno, CA in the early 1970s, and started his medical practice and was a very well known and highly respected orthopedic surgeon and continued his practice until he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in the early 2000s. Dr. Smith like his life partner, Luca Carbone, of some 40 years, was an avid dog person and had a deep love for his house and gardens in Sanger, CA. Dr. Smith was preceded in death by his life partner, Luca Carbone; parents, Oran and Millie; and brother Robert. He leaves behind Linda "Sue" Smith; his nephew Robert; and niece Melissa. Dr. Smith also leaves behind his life partner's siblings, Maria Baxter, Angela Cettorelli, Michele Carbone, Mario M. Carbone, and Salvatore Carbone; and his two godchildren, Marli and Tanya. The family of Luca Carbone will be remembering Dr. Smith with a small Graveside Service at Sanger Cemetery on Friday, September 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Grave location is Block 47B, Lot 3, Grave 1, if you care to join Carbone family with remembering an amazing man.
