Vladimir Chuhlantseff Obituary

VLADIMIR MICHAEL CHUHLANTSEFF "Papa" Vladimir Michael Chuhlantseff, 'Papa', was born in Odamari, Japan on July 14, 1935. He passed comfortably on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at the age of 71. He came to the United States in 1949, with his father and brother. He resided in San Francisco where he attended Lowell High School. Vladimir went into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While in the service he became a U.S. citizen. He worked for Del Webb Corporation for 30 years in many facets. Vladimir would like to be remembered for his cigars, "Oh Helen", "Mom!!", "Talk to your mother", and "You kids are going to drive me crazy." However in truth he would like to say "I love you" (in Russian) to everyone "and may your hearts be true." Vladimir courted Helen Schramm for eight years before they married in 1964. Together they have five children Michael, Harold, Elizabeth "Sissy", Donald and David; daughters- in-law include Allison, Daniela, and Susanne. His grandchildren Tanner, Zachery, Brooke, Logan, Madison, Hunter, and Hannah were his highlights for the past several years. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass will be held at Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Nancy Hinds Hospice Center, and San Joaquin Memorial High School LTD Gridiron Group. To Helen and family,
I was saddened to hear of Vlad's passing. I remember a lot of good times when there was SJM Youth Football ,The Memorial games we would all go to. And of course, when you guys had the restaurant in Selma. I know it is hard , but I'm sure he is in a better place and is at peace. My love and prayers go out to all of you.
Love, Mary Deaile
