Dale Jacobs Obituary
Born August 13, 1946, in Brainerd to Frank "Jake" and Nellie (Anthony) Jacobs, Dale spent his early years moving around before landing back in Brainerd, and eventually Alaska-where he and Susie put down roots, wrangled critters at their so-called "Cripple Critter Ranch," and lived the outdoor life he loved.
Dale drove trucks, then buses, and was happiest hunting, fishing (once he figured it out), camping, gardening, fixing things that may or may not have needed fixing, and dispensing advice-some of which was actually useful. Stubborn but lovable, he was fiercely devoted to his wife, Susie, his kids, and his grandkids, who will miss him more than he probably expected.
He is survived by wife Susie Carlson; daughter Vesta (Luke) Radke; son Jason Jacobs; stepson Erik Carlson; grandchildren Tyler, Riley, Kamryn, Peytan, Jordan (Melody), and Justin; brother Franklin Jacobs; and countless friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Michael, Jim, and Della; first wife, Linda Feriancek; and significant other, Meg Wetherbee.
A Celebration of Dale's life is being planned (details to come), because of course it takes more than one day to sum him up. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Vesta Radke C/O Nelson-Doran Funeral Home (PO Box 362 – Brainerd, MN 56401).
