Varmints and ne'er-do-wells might rest a little easier knowing Alma "Lucille" Towner Frey hung up her spurs on February 18th, 2024, at the distinguished age of 93. At 24-years-old Lucille, then recently widowed with a young daughter, moved to Alaska from New Mexico in 1955. With her second husband, Albert Frey, and new son, they built a log cabin where she lived for the majority of her days.
Although she once said, "Alaska allowed me to be who I am," it is hard to imagine her ever needing anyone's permission to be precisely who she was. Her constant support, fierce care, and unwavering pride in her family is sorely missed. Her ashes will be scattered in the Horn Mountains to join her husband Al.
The memorial gathering in the memory of Lucille Frey will be on Saturday, July 27, at 2:30 PM at the Moose Lodge in Palmer, Alaska: 1136 S. Cobb Street. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
The memorial will be livestreamed or can be watched later at https://evt.live/lucille-frey-memorial
