Catherine "Cathe" Marie Kas, 73, of Frankfort, died Dec. 9, 2021 at Wesley Manor. She was born June 19, 1948 in Akron, Ohio to the late Theodore and Katherine (Garnick) Dahlke. She was previously married to Dennis Kas, and they have remained great friends.
Cathe was a 1966 graduate of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio, received her BA from University of Akron and her Masters from Purdue University. She taught 6th grade, then 3rd grade at Clinton Prairie for 38 years, retiring in 2011. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Cathe enjoyed Bible study with her retired teacher friends and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Cathe is survived by her son, Austan (Ashley) Kas of Fort Wayne; daughter, Cheyenne (Chris) Taylor of Frankfort; stepson, Jade (Crysta) Kas of Clarks Hill; brother, Ted Dahlke of Akron, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Brady, Sydnie, Charlie, Jacoby, Xyan and Jalen.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at the funeral home. Craig Overman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society P.O. Box 455, 825 Izaac Walton Dr., Frankfort, IN 46041.
