John "JC" Carr, age 49, passed away Oct. 6, 2021 after a long battle with cancer and subsequent health issues. The family is deeply saddened by his passing but is grateful he is no longer suffering. He grew up in Frankfort and moved with his family to Morgantown, West Virginia where he graduated from University High School in 1990.
John worked for many years on the road as a truck driver and held various positions using his gifts and talents as a mechanic and landscaper. John loved working on his truck, his landscape design business, listening to country music and Italian food.
He was a member and volunteer of the American Legion #12 in Frankfort where he was recently promoted to Sargent Major by the Sons of the American Legion Ceremonial Guard, Squadron 12. Anyone who knew John was touched by his kind loving heart, great sense of humor, and willingness to help a friend in need.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Carr; sister, Susan (Carr) Van Hoosen; his daughter, Bethany Headlee; son, Jeffrey D. Carr; niece, Sophia Chaille; and grandchildren, Madison and Michael. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard "Larry" Carr.
Celebration of Life Services: American Legion Frankfort, Oct. 23 2-5 p.m., special tribute ceremony at 3 p.m. John's favorite music and food will be served. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to a memorial fund at the Farmers Bank: FOB Jeffrey Carr.
