Shirley J. Horn, 95, formerly of Lafayette, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in Colorado.
Shirley was born on June 5, 1930, in Rossville, IN, to the late Joseph and Gladys (Mosier) Kemp. Shirley graduated from Rossville High School in 1948 and attended Indiana Business College.
On July 30, 1950 she married Martin Horn in Rossville, IN. They were married for 58 years before his passing on May 10, 2009.
Shirley worked as a Secretary for Lafayette National Bank for over 17 years, and she was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church. She loved traveling, watching basketball, cross stitching and embroidery. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children: Dianne (husband, Cole) Spiller, of Colorado, David (wife, Pam) Horn of Lafayette, IN, Darrell Horn of Lafayette, and Dwight (wife, Susan) Horn of Arizona; grandchildren: Treena, Matt, Brett, Zachary, and Brie; great-grandchildren: Mallory, Dailey, Kali, Eli, Ben, and Henry; and great-great grandchildren: Easton, Riley, Quinn, Jeffery, and Kordell.
Along with her husband, Martin, she is preceded in passing by two brothers, Robert F. Kemp and Charley "Ray" Kemp.
Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th Street, Lafayette. Visitation will be one hour prior to the ceremony on Friday. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of choice. Share memories and condolences at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com
