Annie Morgan Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Annie Bell McCartney Morgan, 86, who passed away, Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, will be today at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Collier-Butler Funeral Home. The Rev. Robbie Edwards will officiate and burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends today at Collier-Butler Funeral Home from 12 until 2 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Morgan; daughter, Sherry Hill; grandson, Clay Fuhrman; sister, Betty Arnold; and brothers, J.T., Robert, Sonny and Jack McCartney. Mrs. Morgan was a native of Concord, Texas, and a longtime resident of Etowah County. She was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class at Rainbow City First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Coosa Valley Chapter 551. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed. Her sense of humor was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her grandson, Bart Fuhrman (Angel Carrigan); granddaughter, Toni McCord (Tim); great-grandchildren, Alix Fuhrman, Spencer McCord; sisters, Floris Craddock and Geneva Rice, both of Angelton, Texas; brothers, James McCartney (Mona); sisters-in-law, Mildred, Ann and Helen McCartney; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Bobby and Jimmy McCartney, David Winningham, Greg King, Warren Fuhrman, Derrick Griffey, Jay and Joshua Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are caregivers, Teresa Walker, Belinda Smith, Susan Bowden and Sherry Thrasher.

Special thanks to Dr. Sancheti, Dr. Sirna, Dr. Prince and the 8th floor critical care unit at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
