Bennie Skelton Obituary
Dr. Skelton was a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1963.
He did his residency at the LLoyd Nolan Hospital from July 1, 1964, until June 30, 1966, and then practiced pediatrics in Gadsden until his retirement. Dr. Skelton was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa in Dec. 16, 1958.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Skelton; daughters, Linda Grissett, Cheryl Brazelton, Lisa Tudor; sons, Keith Skelton, Mark Skelton; brother, Ken Skelton; and sister, Angela Hughes; and several grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Larry for several years and also with Dr. Ken. Not only was he a great doctor, but also a very caring person who had the care of his patients foremost. I know his family missed time with him during his practice of pediatrics. Dr. Larry will be greatly missed by all that knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and may your memories bring you comfort at this time.

I would just like to send my condolences to the family of a dear man who made an wonderful impression on many. He will be greatly missed, but his love and care/practice for his patients will not be forgotten by many. God bless you and your family in this time of loss. Dr. Larry has been greatly missed from his practice here in Gadsden and from being a neighbor on Scenic Highway. Dr. Larry and Dr. Ken took great care of our son, Dustin during his youth. We are very appreciative of both. May the Lord be with the family during this loss.

I worked with DR. Skelton at several of the Rural Health Clinics.He was a wonderful teacher and caring person . He will be missed. May God be with you .

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Skelton. I had been a patient of his throughout my entire childhood. He was a wonderful doctor, and a caring man. I was blessed to know him. I pray that God blesses and keeps his family during this trying time. Take comfort in the Lord for He is good. I am praying for you all.

I would just like to send my condolences to the family of a dear man who made an impression on me as a young, student nurse who did a short observation in the office and who later observed Dr. Skelton's compassionate care for his small patients in the hospital setting. He will be greatly missed, but his love and care for his patients will not be forgotten by many. God bless you in this time of loss.

My family recalls with great love and respect, when his name is spoken. We have not kept in touch after we moved away. Larry was much more than our daughters doctor, he was a ture friend in many way. Our prayers for comfort and peace are offered up for Larry's family.

Dr. Larry was a wonderful Doctor. We started using him in 1971 and did so until his retirement. Our children, Robin, Jana, and Scott still remember and talk about him. Now our grand children see Dr. Ken, and we ask about Dr. Larry quite often. May God bless and sustain you thru this time of grief.
