James "Tommy" Chamblee

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. James "Tommy" Chamblee, 70, Hokes Bluff, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. The Rev. Bruce Word will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is announcing.
Tommy will be remembered as a kind, intelligent, easy-going, compassionate man. He loved golfing and was an avid golfer, and was known by "Awesome" by his golfing friends. He loved fishing.
He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber with 35 years of service. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith and lived as such. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend to all and will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Willie Ruth Chamblee, and sister, Gladys Kimbril.
He is survived by wife, Becky Chamblee; daughter, Sabrina (Greg) Young; grandchildren, Laurel and Sawyer Young; sister, Marion Jean McRae; numerous nieces and nephews; his precious aunt, Alcey Simonetti; lifelong friends James Beam and friend of many years John Edge.
Pallbearers will be James Beam, Eugene Deerman, Roger Kimbril, Greg Young and David Simonetti.
Honorary pallbearer is friend, John Edge.
Special thanks to the staff of Alacare Hospice, especially Cassie Roberts.
The family will receive friends from noon Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
