Ruby Pate Obituary
Funeral service was Tuesday at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Hosey and Bro. Jimmy Dan Clanton officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sand Rock Cemetery. The family accepted friends Tuesday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her four children, Jim (Londa) Pate of Birmingham, Mildred (Ron) Ivey, Fort Payne, Trish Jenkins of Sand Rock and John (Sarah) Pate of Riverside, California. She was also blessed with four grandchildren, Nikki, Derly, Laura and Jonathan, as well as two great-grandchildren, Bethanie and Winford.
Mrs. Pate was a resident of the Sand Rock community and an active member of Sand Rock Baptist Church. She was well known for her long-time service to the local, county and state chapters of 4-H and FFA, where she was added to the Alabama FFA Foundation Wall of Honor in 2014, and also nominated for the 4-H Wall of Honor.
Mrs. Ruby was also a talented artist, quilter and dedicated to community service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Pate.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Sand Rock Baptist Church building fund or to Sand Rock School for the "S.E. and Ruby Pate Memorial Scholarship Fund."
