Vera Louise Castron

Mrs. Louise Castron, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Prayer of the Rosary will be held from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service/mass will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Gadsden. Interment to follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Hokes Bluff.
Mrs. Castron was the daughter of the late Arvil C. Loyd and Pelina Ann McCain. She was born and raised here in Etowah County, having attended Gaston School. Mrs. Castron relocated to California to start the very successful Delta Security business. She and her husband, Ron Castron, retired and returned in 2003 to help care for family members in need. She loved flowers and caring for others in need - with no expectation of notoriety or reward.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gartrell Loyd, Nadiene McElrath, Ray Loyd, Charlie Loyd, and Larry Loyd.
She is survived by husband, Ronald F. Castron; and children James "Peanut" Bishop, Ronnie and Vickie Castron; daughter, Tracie Castron; Diane and Keith Goldman, Lisa and Wayne Spurlock, Kim and Steve Woody, Mondai and Chris Keenan, and Angela Stern. Other family members include Mr. and Mrs. Gary Castron, Gloria Allan; and a great multitude of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Members of the Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Morris Stapler, Richard Stapler, Jeff Thacker, Gary Leeds, Dani Bone, and Vance Roberson.
The family wished to recognize Dr. James D Robinson Jr. and the staff members at the Southside Medical Clinic for the many years of genuine care and support provided to Mrs. Castron.
