Alfred Moody Blanton of Gaffney, SC passed away peacefully Saturday, August 12 at his residence surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Alfred M. and Nettie Mae Blanton of Gaffney, SC. Left to cherish his memory are son's Joseph Alexander Blanton and Andrew Garth Blanton of Gaffney, SC, their families, a Granddaughter, Paisley Mae Blanton and a sister Deborah Rhodes of Greenville, SC.
He was born in Baltimore, Md and moved to Gaffney at a young age. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Spartanburg Technical College, majoring in Industrial Electronics. He worked for Tesco, Inc of South Carolina as an electrician for a number of years before retiring. He was a rodeo stock contractor, a 3rd degree blackbelt in Kenpo and had a love of music playing the bass guitar.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service is scheduled Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 10am at Frederick Memorial Gardens, with Sammy Adams and David Blanton speaking. A receiving of friends will be held after.
