Chesnee, SC - Arthur Lynn Watson, 81, of 136 King Grant Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Hospice House of Spartanburg Regional.
Born on April 17, 1941 in Spartanburg, he was the loving husband for 62 years to the late Rebecca Cash Watson and the son of the late Walter Lynn Watson, Jr. and Kathryn Allison Watson. He was a graduate of Chesnee High School in 1959, attended Limestone College and was a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Since the age of 19, he devoted his life to ensuring the success of Watson's Furniture Company, taking care of his customers and providing for his family. Serving his customers was of the utmost importance to him. Every day you would find him talking to customers and taking care of their needs. It is not without enormous gratitude that we can share that the business would not exist without him at the forefront for the past almost 70 years.
As devoted as he was to this business, he was even more devoted to family. Surviving are his two sons, John Watson (Jennifer) and Jeffrey Watson (Deana), both of Chesnee; a brother James Ronald Watson of Boiling Springs; five grandchildren, Gracin Watson Johnson (Zack), Luke Watson (Chloe), Rebecca Watson, Kathryn "Katie" Faith Watson and Abigail Watson; and three great-grandchildren Beckett Johnson, Hudsyn Grace Johnson, and Jeffrey Banks Watson. He loved sharing with pride the accomplishments of his grandchildren every chance he got. We know he spent his final year missing Becky and we are so thankful the two are together again walking streets of gold.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Chesnee First Baptist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00 PM at the church with Reverend Gary Grogan and Reverend Larry Fleming officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to: T3C Foundation, Toby Cantrell Scholarship and Tom Ezell Scholarship Fund. The family will be at the residence.
