Benjamin Gaffney Obituary
The Reverend Benjamin Gaffney, 78, of 269 Beltline Road, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017, in The Peachtree Centre.
He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church and former pastor of Mark Hill Baptist Church in Jonesville, Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Gaffney, Salem Zion Baptist Church in Pacolet, and Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Waxhaw, N.C.
He was preceded in death by two children, Marie Workman and Angelas Gaffney, and siblings, Rev. E.C. Gaffney (Hazel), Weldon Gaffney, Warren Gaffney, Anita Hunter, Vivian Moore, and Aileen Brown.
Surviving are: two sons, Benjamin Gaffney, Jr. of Boiling Springs, N.C. and Angelo Gaffney of Gaffney; two daughters, Benjie Monique Gaffney and Shatisha Camp, both of Gaffney; 12 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, September 2, 12 noon, in Island Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
He will be in state in the church Saturday at 11 a.m.
The family is at the home of Mrs. Hettie Gaffney, 312 Providence Road.
