Gaffney, SC -- Billy Ray Wise, 64, of 150 Boiling Springs Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Georgie Ann Rotarius Wise and son of Janie Miller Wise of Gaffney and the late Bobby Ray Wise. He retired from Freightliner, was a volunteer with the Grassy Pond Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Salvation Army Church. He loved spending time with the family, especially his grandchildren, loved fishing, the outdoors and yard sales and was very mechanical.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Shon Wise (Holly) of Union and Adrian Bradshaw of Gaffney; five daughters, Mandy Tucker of Inman, Sherri Price, DeeDee Parker (Todd) and Heather Mayfield (Mack), all of Gaffney and Stacey Moss (Barry) of Florida; two brothers, David Wise (Lori) of Gaffney and Bobby Wise, Jr. (Kishia) of Mill Spring, NC; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Shane Wise.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Salvation Army Church. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the Church with Lieutenant Jake Law, Lieutenant Liz Law and Mr. David Wise officiating. Entombment will be in the Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Social distancing and masks are requested.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to: Salvation Army Church, 601 Colonial Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340 or Grassy Pond Volunteer Fire Department, 168 School Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
