Bradford Matthews Obituary

Woodruff, SC - Laurie Bradford Matthews, 76, of 156A Shennandale Circle, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Kingstree, he was the son of the late William Angle Matthews and Fean Barfield Matthews. He retired from Reeves Brothers, loved his family and fishing, and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is a son, Edward Matthews (Scott) of Smyrna, GA; two daughters, Amy Ponds (Shane) of Chesnee and Janet Simmons of Duncan; a brother, H. R. Matthews (Brenda) of Pamplico; two sisters, Karen Cox (Gene) of Montgomery, AL and Margaret Baker of Florida; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Matthews and a sister, Ollie Cooke.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family will be at their respective homes.
