Chesnee, SC - Brenda Evans Pye, 82, of 424 Overcreek Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of James Richard Pye and daughter of the late Wardlaw Evans and Ethel Bagwell Evans. She retired from textiles and was a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church. She loved her family, gardening, canning and shopping.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Mitchell Jones (Tammy) of Chesnee; a stepson, Richard Pye of Chesnee; two brothers, Larry "Billy" Evans of Cowpens and Terry Evans (Judy) of North Carolina; a sister, Linda Horne of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Austin Jones and Jessica Sperling (Jesse) and numerous step grandchildren; a great-grandchild, Josie Sperling and numerous step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mickey Jones, a stepdaughter, Marie Harris, two sisters, Shirley Ruppe and Patricia Robbins and six brothers, Buddy Evans, Berl Evans, Gerald Evans, Reggie Evans, Ray Evans and Jerry Evans.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00PM at the Church with Reverend Belton Drake officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
