Chesnee, SC - Pastor Charles Lewis Hyatt, 89, of 331 Green Lake Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Union, he was the husband of Mary Scruggs Hyatt and son of the late Lewis Thomas Hyatt and Lillie Mae Knighton Hyatt. He was the retired Pastor of Bible Belt Baptist Church where he faithfully served for over 47 years and where he remained a member. He loved his family, fishing, was very mechanical and enjoyed working on cars and lawnmowers.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Pastor Charles H. Hyatt (Erma Jo) of Chesnee; four daughters, Sherri Lynn Brock (Rev. Henry) of N. Myrtle Beach, Kimberly Mason (Bruce) of Boiling Springs, SC, Robin Millwood of Inman, and Kerri Springs (Tim) of Boiling Springs, SC; fourteen grandchildren, Sommer Ortiz (Rev. Jay), Ryan Brock (Kristin), Evangelist Jacob Hyatt (Hannah), Bethany Sanders (Jared Bigg), Daniel Hyatt (Kyla), Corey Mason (Stephanie), Erin Anderson (Joshua), Tyler Mason, Autumn Kimbrell (Joey), Jefre Millwood, Mykessa Emery (Thomas), Andrew Hyatt, Elijah Hyatt (Samantha), Jasie Springs; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kelly Hyatt, a grandson, Joshua Springs, a great-grandson, Jeremiah J. Ortiz, II, four brothers, and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00PM on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Bible Belt Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the Church with Pastor Charles H. Hyatt and Pastor Frankie Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
