Gaffney, SC - Charles Wilburn Waters, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was husband of the late Earlene Mode Waters and son of the late Fred Wilburn Waters and Novella Blackwell Waters. He retired from Sanders Brothers, was a former truck driver for Beekins, a U. S Navy Veteran, and of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and was very mechanical.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Kay Cathcart (Bill) of Summerville; grandchildren, Charles Douglas "Chad" Waters, Justin Blake Waters, Jennifer Danielle Reynolds, all of Gaffney, and Michelle Finney (Jack) of Summerville; numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Terry Waters, Jr., a grandson, Daniel Terry Waters, III, and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Shriner Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
The family will be at their respective homes.
