Blacksburg, SC – Daisy Marie Guthrie Ross, 97, formerly of 403 West Lime Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at The Retreat of Gaffney.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Whitney Warren Ross, Sr. and daughter of the late Calvin Jack Guthrie, Sr. and Daisy Northey Guthrie. She retired from Gaffney Manufacturing and was a member of First Baptist Church in Blacksburg.
Surviving are four sons, Jake Ross, Sr. (Anita), James "Jimmy" Calvin Ross (Lorie), Whitney Ross, Jr. and Larry Joe Ross (Anne), all Blacksburg; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Vivian Turner, Othella Smalley, Mabel Phillips and Juanita Harris, two brothers, Jack Guthrie, Jr. and Ralph Guthrie, a daughterin law, Judy Ross, and two grandchildren, Jake Ross, Jr. and Calvin Ross, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Mountain View Cemetery with Reverend Harold Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service. Social distancing and masks are requested.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
The family will be at their respective homes.
