Gaffney, S.C. - Daniel Claiborne Huskey, 98, formerly of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Charles Huskey and Polly Mae Daniels Huskey. He retired from textiles, was a U.S. World War II veteran and member of Glen Rock Baptist Church in Fort Mill, S.C.
Surviving are two nephews, Rev. Norman Philbeck of Cowpens and Barry Philbeck of Rock Hill; four nieces, Janice Young of Florida, Pat Poole, Lorene Coyle and Dallas Jones, all of Gaffney. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, K. O. Huskey and Grover Huskey and four sisters, Sara Patterson, Nell Robinette, Montez Huskey and Margaret Philbeck.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Norman Philbeck officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Peachtree Centre, 1434 N. Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at their respective homes.
