Spartanburg, S.C. - David Lee Bittinger, 61, of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Wichita Falls, TX, he was the husband of Kim Driskill and son of Richard L. Bittinger of Sprague, NB and Joyce Bockoven O'Hare of Newport, TN and stepson of the late Patrick O'Hare and Doris Bittinger. He retired from Michelin, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a member of Brookwood Church in Greenville. He loved his family, woodworking and working in the yard.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a son, Joshua Bittinger of Washington, DC; a stepson, Chad Driskill of Gaffney; two brothers, Douglas A. Bittinger (Marie) of Newport, TN and Brian O'Hare (Mary) of Meridian, Idaho; a sister, Laura Timmermann of Greenville, IL; special nieces, Layn Carter and Ellie Carter of Spartanburg; a step-grandchild, Tyler Driskill of Gaffney; a step-great-grandchild, Tyler Driskill, Jr. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen K. Bittinger.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
The family will be at their respective homes.
