Gaffney, SC - David Lee Bostic, 80, of 750 Blue Branch Road, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at his residence.
Born in Charleston, he was the son of the late Maurice Chesley "M.C." Bostic, Jr. and Nina Lovingood Bostic. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a graduate of Nashville Diesel Mechanic School, and retired as a self-employed mechanic and musician. He was a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran and of the Baptist faith. David could play multiple musical instruments and traveled and played with several groups. He complied original music for himself and others. He was a very good mechanic and could draw and create wood carvings. He loved his family and his fur-baby "Jericho" who he affectionately referred to as "Boy".
He is survived by a brother, Fred Bostic (Margie) of Lexington, SC; a sister, Doris Henderson of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Matthew Mullinax and Cryslin Childers; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Mullinax Bostic Childers and a nephew, Steve Bostic.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chad Wisher officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Silica Springs Baptist Church, 2032 Pacolet Highway, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at the home of Doris Henderson, 497 Fortenberry Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
