David Cornmesser Obituary
Gaffney, SC - David Monroe Cornmesser, 78, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Born in Greenville, he was the husband of the late Vickie Youngblood Cornmesser and son of the late Lloyd Cornmesser and Frances Cornmesser. He was a graduate of Clemson University, retired from Duke Energy, was a U. S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Gaffney. David was a member of the Lyman Masonic Lodge and a member of the Ham Radio Club in Gaffney.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Cornmesser (Victoria) of Greer; his brother, Bobby Cornmesser (Betty) of Jacksonville, FL; his sister, Beth Dobson of Greenville; his sister-in-law, Bernice Cornmesser of Memphis, TN; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Cornmesser.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services will immediately follow in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jenny Gettys officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
The family will be at their respective homes.
