Donald Adler Obituary
Gaffney - Donald Williamson Adler, 95, of 211 Maple Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.
Born in Canton, Ohio, he was first married to the late Rose Ellen Stitz Adler, was the husband of Gail R. Adler, and son of the late Harry Adler and Minnie Yoerns Adler. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, retired from Carolina Abrasive & Supply, and the former owner/operator of Spring Valley Golf Course in Canton, Ohio. He loved his family and friends, was a Mason & Shriner, an avid golfer and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Rick Adler (Debra) of Gaffney; a stepson, Rocky Ruppe (Laura) of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Donnie Adler (Alice), Justin Adler (Marsha), Jack Adler (Deana) and Michelle Adler; ten great-grandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Larry Adler, a daughter, Katherine Adler, and two sisters, Betty Barwick and Evelyn Luthie.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Phil Gallman and Reverend David Keenan officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC 29342.
The family will be at their respective homes.
