Gaffney, SC - Donnie "Pop" Webster Dixon, 74, of 701 Florence Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Union, he was the husband of the late Melba Allison Dixon, companion of Fairley Reome of the home and son of the late Gaines Webster Dixon and Ethel Williams Dixon. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School where he drove a school bus, retired from A/C Corporation, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved his family, the mountains, fishing and camping.
He is survived by a daughter, Casey Dixon of Gaffney; a brother, Terry Cooper (Debbie) of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Betty Vido of Stanley, NC; three grandchildren, Elijah Dixon, Gabriel Haulk and Jeremiah Drake; numerous and nieces and nephews, and was "Pop" to all children. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Joan Haulbrooks, Geraldine Hughey and Jenny White and a brother, Clyde Dixon.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services, with military honors, will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church with Reverend Tim Osment officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Shriner's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
