Doug Hawkins

Gaffney, SC - Douglas "Doug" Fred Hawkins, 76, of 3133 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the husband of Lynda Reynolds Moore of the home, was first married to the late Guindal "Gwen" Finch Hawkins, and son of the late John Alvin Hawkins and Mary Edna Johnson Hawkins. He retired from Continental Express, worked for Carter Johnson Farms, was a S. C. National Guard member, and a member of White Plains Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Angela Godfrey, Cathy Smiley (Howard, Jr.) and Pam Addis (Scott), all of Gaffney; two stepdaughters, Tammy Moore Ward (Mike) and Stephanie Moore Neesam (David), both of Gaffney; two brothers, Frank Hawkins (Joann) and Donald Lee Hawkins (Paula), both of Gaffney; a sister, Candy Pickert (Merle) of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Angelica Holmes (Lance Blankenship), Teresa Baker (Brad), Lisa Denson (Parker), Bessie Upchurch (Bryson), Macie Smiley (Seth), Leah Smiley, Kassy Addis (Paul Davis) and Kayley Addis (fiancé Robert Fernandez); four stepgrandchildren,

Michaela Ward, Madison Pruitt (Brandon), Tyler Duncan (Brandi) and Hunter Puckett (fiancé Katelyn Mayfield); sixteen greatgrandchildren, Wesley, Jamin, Alli-Kate, Delanie, Nathan, Carrianne, Elizabeth, Karrigan, Paislee, Bryar, Mavrik, Tucker, Amelia, Taze, Jace and Ava; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Fred Hawkins, Jr., a brother, Eddie Hawkins, and a sister, Carolyn Tyson.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, May 15, 2023 at White Plains Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church with Reverend Michael Boyter officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
