Gaffney, SC - Edward C. "Oz" Spencer, 80, of 127 Stacy Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Donna Ruppe Spencer and the son of the late Roy E. Spencer and Mary Etta Wood Spencer. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, was a Mason and a Shriner and enjoyed having breakfast with his friends at Blanton's Wrecker Service. Mr. Spencer was retired from Broad River Electric, after 30 plus years of service and was a member of West End Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, also surviving is a son, Brian Spencer (Erica) of Gaffney; a daughter, Dena Minnix (Brian) of Lake Wylie; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Blanton (Ronnie) of Gaffney and Lana Hughes of Roebuck; four grandchildren, Hannah Minnix, Brian Minnix II, Blake Spencer and Paisley Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to West End Baptist Church Community, Cherokee Shrine Club members and Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, September 29, 2025 at West End Baptist Church with Reverend Michael McCurry, Dr. Wayne Brown and Dr. Ketih Harrill officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
