Chesnee, SC - Our precious mother, Sarah Eloree Blackwell Pruitt, entered her eternal home with the Lord on the afternoon of December 21st.
She was born on March 5, 1931, to Albert and Montiree Arledge Blackwell. She was married for 61 blessed years to the late Paul Pruitt.
She faithfully attended Southside Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted her to do so and was also a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church. She served the Lord through many roles in both churches, including teaching and serving on the Bereavement Committees.
Above all, she was a loving mother to her children: Karen and Jimmy Lovelace; Carey and Lisa Pruitt; and Denise and Robin Pruitt. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Grandchildren: Joshua and Natalie Lovelace; Drew and Joy Lovelace; Brittany and Nick Padgett; Caleb Pruitt; Clay and Josie Pruitt; and Tyler and Anna Pruitt. Greatgrandchildren: Jackson, Neelie, Reed, and Lynlee Lovelace; Jo Anna Pruitt; and Bailey and Riley Padgett.
Also surviving are her siblings: Frances Elder, Diana Blackwell, and Ray Blackwell and surviving are her bonus children Eddie and Sandra Pruitt
She was predeceased by granddaughter Teresa Dawn Pruitt and by her siblings: Eula Mae and Rev. Thomas Gossett; Ezevan Blackwell; James Blackwell; and brother-in-law Lee Earl Elder.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 26th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Blakley Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 27th, at 2:00 p.m. at Casey Creek Baptist Church. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
