Gaffney, SC - Everett Foster "Bud" Cooke, 97, of 155 Farview Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Union, he was the husband of the late Gladys Elizabeth Jolley Cooke and son of the late Mick Cooke and Marie Bentley Cooke. He worked for Clarkson Brothers for over 30 years, retired from Best Machinery, and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, fishing, baseball and gardening.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cooke Elmore of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Kimberly Holland, Angela Kennedy (Shane), Amanda Morris (Roger), Jeff Morris (Julie), Tammy O'Dell (Tim) and Shannon Lauridsen; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Janice Scates of Union; numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Marion, three brothers, Fate Cooke, Ray Cooke and Wallace Cooke, and two sisters, Leola and Eller.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul E. Morris, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens.
