Gladys Solmon Obituary
Blacksburg, SC - Gladys Elizabeth Wallace Solmon, 79, of 1299 Old Chester Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Gaffney, she was the loving wife of Dever Edward Solmon, Sr. for 61 years and the daughter of the late Delton Wallace and Annie Stringer Wallace. She enjoyed reading, traveling, especially the mountains and loved her family. Mrs. Solmon was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, also surviving is a son, Dever Edward Solmon Jr. (Cindy) of Gaffney; a daughter, Debbie Vinesett (Clay) of Gaffney; a sister, Lois White of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Wendi McLemore, Mason Solmon, Trent Solmon (Jazmine), Ashley Crawford (Douglas), Nikki Ramsey and Alana Powers (Trent); eight-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Solmon was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Renee Mullinax; a sister, Carolyn Parris; and three brothers, Delton Wallace Jr., Ted Wallace and James Wallace. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the church with Pastor Damon Keels and Dr. Terry Duvall officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Faith Baptist Church, 246 Ford Road, Gaffney, SC, 29340 or Agape Hospice, 1060 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC, 29303. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agape Hospice and Peachtree Centre Staff for their love and exceptional care.
