Gaffney, S.C. – Grady Wylie Gentry, 88, formerly of 304 Brookwood Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Viva Senior Living in Gaffney.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Betty Lowe Gentry and son of the late Dave Wylie Gentry and Maggie Coleman Gentry. He retired as Lieutenant from the City of Gaffney Police Department after 28 years of service and was a member of Cherokee Gospel Tabernacle. He loved his family, camping, Blue Grass music, and was an avid Atlanta Braves and NASCAR fan, especially Bill Elliott.
Surviving is a son, Kenneth Gentry (Patti) of Gaffney; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Gentry of Pickens; a sister, Linda Correll of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Jason Gentry (Heather) Brad Gentry, and Amanda Ramirez (Jerry); three great-grandchildren, Madisyn Gentry, Aubrey Ramirez and Hannah Ramirez; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Wylie Gentry and a brother, Lloyd Gentry.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Richard Sellars officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

The family will be at their respective homes.
