Blacksburg - Ina Kay Love Willis affectionately known as "Mama Kay and Maw Maw " to many, 74, of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully on Friday April 7, 2023, at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born In Gaffney, SC on February 9, 1949 to the late James Kelly Love and Vilma Childers Love. Ina formerly worked in textiles as a lab technician.
Ina Kay was a loving and devoted mother of (5) five children, two sons, James (Phyllis) Willis, and Scott (Donna) Willis of Blacksburg, and three daughters, Wanda (Chris) Sheppard, Tanya (Chucky) Harrison both of Blacksburg, and Jeneane (Dean) Parker of Chattanooga, TN. Ms. Willis is survived by one brother, Tim Love of Blacksburg, nineteen grandchildren and twenty four greatgrandchildren.
Ina loved her family, who she adored and brought her an abundance of joy to her life. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, which drew her into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ daily. Ina Kay, loved to laugh, and would always look for ways to bring happiness to family, friends, and strangers, who were considered friends in the making. She loved to cook for her family and friends, loved talking on the phone to her children and friends, and loved working puzzles in her free time. She was a devoted wife to the late James Grady Willis, Jr., for 45 years, and loved to share their love story . She longed for the day to join him in Heaven, with their Savior Jesus Christ. Ina Kay was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, of Gaffney.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 1 - 2 p.m., at Gordon Mortuary of Blacksburg, 400 W. Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702. Funeral services will immediately follow, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Craig officiating.
Entombment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
Scott Willis, Daniel Harrison, Marc Willis, Jason McCord, Bobby Parker, And Rowan Parker will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be at their respective residences.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Ina Kay Love Willis, to the Backpack Buddies Ministry of Broad River Baptist Church, 419 W. Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 1692 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
