Pickens, S.C. - Staff Sergeant Jeffrey Clark "Country Boy" Smith lost his life to Sudden Death from Cardiomyopathy Monday, March 20, 2023.
He is survived by his devoted wife LoriAnn Smith; his seven biological, and four adopted children, Carey Smith-Twitty, Chayne Smith, Corey Smith, William Chaun Smith, Jeffrey Chade Smith, Zachary Conner Smith, Gabriel Caiden Smith, Maggie Horton- Smith, Natasha Dupuis- Pagan-Smith, Anthony Thereal-Smith, and Christian Bishop; his grandchildren Danika Smith, Izabella Dupuis, Gianna Gammercone, and Kendrix Dupuis-Pagan: his parents Jerry and Carole "Missy" Smith, brother Jerry Clayton Smith, Jr and sister-in-law Paula Nantais-Smith; and his nieces Kayla Smith-Dudich, Makinnlee Nantais- Bloxton, and Tyler Smith-Talbert: in addition to his great nieces and nephews.
Jeff enlisted in the United States Army after graduating from South Stanly High School in 1985 where he served his country, including two tours in Iraq, until his medical retirement in 2011. He received his Associate's Degree in Business Science from Ashford University during his retirement. Jeff enjoyed cruising with his wife and kids, working his land in Blacksburg, SC, and building in his wood shop.
His family will host a Celebration of Life on their property in Blacksburg, SC, on April 23, 2023.

Sending condolences to all of Jeff's loved ones. We met only once but that was enough to understand what a good person he was. Only the good die young.
