Jody Gunter Obituary
Gaffney, SC - Jody Eugene Gunter, 63, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Eugene Earl Gunter and Patsy Horton Gunter. He was an avid golfer, a member of Cherokee National and Elks Lodge, loved to walk, avid reader and was very intelligent. Mr. Gunter retired from Baltimore Sun Newspaper, formerly worked at Timken and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is an aunt, Sue Hopper of Gaffney; a companion, Sheilah Hill of Charleston; and numerous beloved cousins and great cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, January 5, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Terry Tate and Pastor Caleb Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC, 29342.
The family will be at their respective homes.
