Joseph Self Obituary
CHESNEE - Joseph Earl Self, 74, of 235 Church Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2017, at his residence.
Born in Campobello, he was the husband of Sue Gossett Self of 52 years and was the son of the late Robert Vernon Self and Irene Patton Self. He was a graduate of Chapman High, a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Harmonica Man for several nursing homes for 17 years, and also loved camping.
Surviving are a daughter, Taska Susanne Dobson and husband, Eric; a brother, Leroy Self and wife, Carol, of Campobello; a sister, Margaret Self, of Boiling Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, H.T. Self, David Self, and William Self; and three sisters, Ruth Self Reed, Julia Self Holden, and Mary Branton.
The family will received friends on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The funeral service immediately followed at 3 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Spencer and Reverend Rick Dizbon officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 250 Mt. Olive Road, Cowpens, SC 29330.
The family will be at the residence.
