Gaffney, SC - Joyce Guyton, daughter of the late Lewis Teague and Mabelle Mullinax Teague, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family.
She was a homemaker and attended Southside Free Will Baptist in Spartanburg SC. She enjoyed volunteering at Draytonville school and cooking for the community.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Reverend Henry Guyton. She was preceded in death by two of her children, Joyce Loretta Guyton and Henry Earl Guyton and her brother, Bobby Teague.
Joyce is lovingly remembered by her two children, Randy Guyton of Gaffney and Rhonda Scruggs (Steve) of Gaffney. She also had the special privilege of raising three of her grandchildren, Henry Guyton (Nicole) of Gaffney, Allyson Guyton Parker (Dylon) of Gaffney and Elizabeth Guyton (Blake) of Spartanburg, who held a very special place in her heart.
She leaves behind two beloved grandchildren: Melissa Ponds (Eric) and Andrea Ponds (Allen); and eight great-grandchildren: Isabel Guyton, Hayzlee Weese, Kenzley Thomas, Wyatt Parker, Bella Grace Guyton, Ryan Weese, Waylon Parker, and Weston Styles; a brother, Ansel Teague of Gaffney; a sister, Annie Cobb of Gaffney.
Joyce's love for her family, her faith, and her gentle spirit will live on in all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jesse Smith, Mr. Henry Guyton and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the residence.
