Kenneth Lenier Knuckles was born on June 14, 1956, in Gaffney, South Carolina. He was a son of Delia Knuckles Ballard and the Late Bobby Tate. "Kenny" was reared in the home of his grandparents, the late Samuel Knuckles, Sr. and Priscilla Mack Knuckles.
He attended the public schools of Cherokee County and graduated from Gaffney High School in 1974. While in high school, he was a part of several clubs and committees. He was also a School Bus Driver.
Husband of Gloria Elaine Posey, Kenny loved his family, church, friends, fellow-man, Sports Cars and the Dallas Cowboys.
Kenny was a devoted member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, Church Clerk, and a deacon.
He was a former employee of Magnolia Finishing, Stacy Trucking, Newark Electronics, and Nestlé's (formally known as Stouffer's Foods).
On Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, at 9:00 in the morning, Kenny entered eternal rest in his home.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: his loving wife of 42.5 years and caretaker for the last 7 years, Gloria Elaine Posey Knuckles; a son Joshua Lenier Knuckles, of Gaffney who was also his part-time caretaker; two daughters, Ashley D. McCluney, of Gaffney and LaShonda Cole (Brier), of Chesnee, SC; a grandchild, Miss Maleiya Graham, of Gaffney, SC; loving mother, Delia F. Ballard also of Gaffney, SC; four sisters, devoted sister, Lois Dukes (AJ), of Chesnee, SC, Faye Goudelock, Martha Butler (Robert), and Barbara Petty; two brothers, Freddie Tate (Genene), of Gaffney, SC, and Ricky Tate, of Spartanburg, SC; three aunts, Nelleree Hardy who was also his parttime caretaker, Juanita Watkins, and Dorothy Tate; two uncles, Mack Knuckles (Grace) and Cossie Knuckles (Johnnie Mae), all of Gaffney, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving visitors daily from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home.
