Gaffney, SC - Larry Dale Duckett, 79, of 329 Norman Boulevard, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Leonard Medford Duckett and Effie Mae McBee Duckett. He was a 1964 graduate of Gaffney High School, a U. S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, retired from Timken, and was currently employed at Peachtree Centre. He loved camping, motorcycles, dirt track racing and was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving is a special sister, Deena Laughlin of Gaffney; a nephew, Joey Perry of Spartanburg; a niece, Pam Wylie of Spartanburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Duckett,
Jr., James Orin Duckett and Jerry Pittman Duckett, two sisters, Estelle Duckett Bolin and Virginia Grace Duckett Perry, and an infant sister, Dorothy Ann Duckett.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services, with military honors, will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating.

we were very lucky to meet Larry when he drove his friend Jerry Brinkman to North Bend ore. We were like we had known each other for years, Larry was planning to come & visit us. We had kept in contact since the first day we meant. Our hearts & prayers are with the family, we are so very sorry for the family & friends. He was a very special man.

Larry and my first husband were in Viet Nam together.We have stayed in touch thru facebook. he was a good friend for many years .I will miss talking to him and messaging him on FB.So sorry for your loss.He was a sweet man.
